UKRA2000, Saturday 3rd

It was still very wet on Saturday, and even a little misty in the morning. "What altitude is the cloud base this morning?", "You're standing in it". The North Star Rocketeers were in fine flying shape, and in no way hung over, oh no.

First order of the day for Darren and Shaun was to find new footwear. The overnight attempts to dry out yetterdays sodden clothes had failed. Garlands huntin' n' shootin' n' fishin' shop. 30 minutes later and too many pounds lighter they were decked out in the finest of rubberised footwear. "And now on the catwalk, Shaun is modeling a natty pair of lace-up rubber walking boots, whilst Darren sports the more traditional Barbour Wellies. And for those that aren't in the know, this year green is out and blue is in.

Brian came down for the day to do his level 2 certification and sit his exam, which he passed. Richard and Tony came down too, although the were only spectating.

Actually Darren didn't launch anything, He fiddled around around and fretted with Tintinique all day, apart from when he helped out with the UKRA rocket workshop.

Again the pub featured heavily during the evenings entertainment. However, the North Stars did take time out to be entertained by Pete of Pete's Rockets, who made us cups of tea and cocoa, while we admired his shop. Discussion turned to group projects, and some ideas were floated. Not saying anything yet, but watch this space...

The intelligent conversation became a bit too much for some and they retired back to the club house to consume more beer. Richard Osborne of MARS laid on the entertainment, by proving that it's not how much you drink, but how you drink it, that governs how drunk you get. Richard later ran the Edingale half marathon, whilst looking for his tent.

On to Sunday.

Thanks to Adrian Hurt for some of the pics.
